Peace MagazinePeace magazine was created for the sole purpose of educating 16 to 34 year women about social issues not generally focused in their entirety on in most other publications. By taking topics that are generally given a melancholy or “doctor’s office pamphlet” feel and turning them into visual content that the general public are more apt to find more appealing, Peace rediscovers matters that flood our economic communities and bring them to the table with purpose.

Suicide On The RiseIn the pages of Peace Magazine I wanted to put together an article that would carry out the theme of visual storytelling to readers. Currently, the 'Suicide on the Rise' article is the most loved favorite of my works by viewers on DeviantArt.com. Much of this in my personal opinion has to do with one simple thing: you don't have to read the article to get my point across.

Atom + BombsWhen I was a child there were two things that stuck out most in the world of candy and comics. First, what really annoyed me was the fact that you couldn't choose what two flavors of Nerds candy you wanted to have together and second, the iconic visuals of Spy vs. Spy comics seemed to have been lost in the mix.
To cure both problems, I went back to the spies to design this themed two part candy package. The idea is that you can purchase any flavor of gummi flavored bombs, and to accompany the hole in the center of them you can additionally purchase any flavored atom. I am still waiting to see if this gets Wonka's attention.

HowCreated in 2009, the design of page layout has always been an exciting challenge for me. The HOW magazine pictured left added to the preexisting challenge in that it brought to the table something I had not been previouly comfortable working with; modern & simple design.
Typography can be complicated when you don't have alluring images of beautiful women to sidetrack your attention. Added to that, most people don't find rules and regulations all that fun to read. In the end however, I was very happy with the result and direction I took with this modern design.

HD/DVD: Better Off DeadNo cemeteries! No seriously, cemeteries were not allowed to be used in this tongue in cheek magazine illustration & page layout. As a result I took a chance and brought to life something that 'Six Feet Under' had been showcasing for years. In the end it was a chance worth taking since the humor and oddly twisted result caught the eye of those who were asked to read the article. The downfall however was they spent more time looking for the tiny jokes hidden in the background. Consider it a revisit back to the days of Mad magazine.

Advertising Hellman's & AbsolutI always felt as a designer that I belonged in Europe. My humor tends to take me places that are generally more accepted by the French and as a result sometimes has a hard time fitting in here, in the U.S.
I have a tendency of thinking of a great tag line for products and when the moment presents itself I take advantage of situations that allow me to bring the concept to life. So to answer your question, yes the people on the right were my friends and intoxicated and yes I borrowed my friends underwear to dress a sandwich appropriately.
