    Peace Magazine

Peace magazine was designed and created to educate women between the ages of 16 and 34 on social and economic issues not generally focused on in most other publications. By handling topics that are most often seen as melancholy or portrayed as a doctor’s office pamphlet and turning them into visually enticing content that the general public are more apt to find appealing, Peace rediscovers matters that flood our communities and brings them to the table with purpose.

The magazine layout pictured left that I photographed and designed, is one of my most popular pieces amongst fans on DeviantArt.com. Its ability to convey the articles topic in such a simple and universally understood form is what I believe makes it one that many find appealing. This spread was created as an addition to the issue of Peace Magazine as another topic not widely discussed in an engaging format.

    Atom + Bombs

Using two childhood favorites as inspiration, Spy vs. Spy and Nerds, I designed this themed two part candy package. The idea is that you can purchase any flavor of gummi flavored bombs, and to accompany the hole in the center of them you can additionally purchase any flavored atom. I am still waiting to see if this gets Wonka's attention.

Created in 2009, the design of page layout has always been an exciting challenge for me. The HOW magazine pictured left added to the preexisting challenge in that it brought to the table something I had not been previouly comfortable working with; modern & simple design.

    Better Off Dead

Nearly two hundred Photoshop layers and twenty-five smart objects later, this illustration made entirely of basic shapes and organic textures is one of my favorite works. By following the guidelines that I was not to use cemeteries or gravestones, I took it upon myself to explore the world of dark humor that successful television shows like ‘Six Feet Under’ seemed to do well. Not only does the imagery completely over dramatize the article itself, but it also has some hidden humor for those who choose to look closer.

A passion of mine is writing great tag lines and quirky sayings for products or companies that are long overdue for a makeover. Buying products whether it’s groceries or home goods should be fun. The very thought of their personality should make you laugh with endearment or remember their clever humor. And sometimes they should be so off the wall and offensive that you can’t get them out of your head.
